new changes, new hassles

so folks, i finally learned how to slowly set up my site davidjrm.com and whilst i sort that stuff out, i thought i would transfer my blog stuff over to davidjrm.com/blog. Now i hope you can all bear with me, as this shit is pretty tough for someone like me, who knows next to nothing about coding web stuff. But in the mean while, hope you like the new look.

Oh and the youtube postings on the davidjrm.com blog are not working due to the change of software etc… but new posts will be fine!

Happy Hogmanay to one and all!

I am working till 10:30pm then shall be getting hammered until 12:30 am where upon i shall be working he bar at the Carnival arts new year bash for a few hours, helping out an old friend in a tight squeeze. But regardless tonight shall be fun as usual!! So to get in the mood i’m gonna be a tad nice and put up a couple of tunes for one and all to groove to come 2009! My first proper broken bone…

So, last monday was Grant’s last night in the flat. We went out after i finished work with Pauline and Hegarty…. a lot of drink and some dancing later at the Buff club, was home time….

only some wee arseholes at the bar starting winding me up and saying shit. I was mouthing off back to them, no more so than anyone would and as i was leaving with my back to them, one of them hit me, i turned around and hit one of them back, nothing serious just a hit, then it al kicked off. One of them hit my face and then the other did. I was all wet. Thought i had been glassed so naturally got a bit angry but couldn’t really do much in a crowded club. Turned out one of them had punched my face, my glasses had been pushed in to my face and snapped my nose…the wetness was the blood gushing out. Lovely. The bouncers grabbed me, telling me to let go of one of the guys, who by this time i had a grip of and was refusing to let go off. Eventually after the bouncers, who were great btw, had taken me downstairs and cleaned me up, i went to the hospital. Have a broken nose, badly bruised cheek, scratched eyeball… yes scratched, i was more angry about that cause really, who fucking scratches! That was a week ago, got my hospital appointment again tomorrow, so fingers crossed i’m healing up ok. I have photos on my brothers camera so i’ll get them up asap. Until then….

1. Despite what was written and said, my team, Rangers making the UEFA Cup final in manchester was amazing. My brother and i travelled down on the bus the morning of the day and had the time of our life. Having ran out of our alcohol at 1pm, a trip to the local shop was in order….i wasn’t the only one who needed beer…. at exactly 4 seconds in i’m spotted singing away, between the guy with the white t-shirt on and hat and the guy with the blue,white and navy blue top with the case of beer…. amazing day and no, we saw no trouble.

2. I could have put up any of these youtube videos but this one is great due to the fact it has the views of the alps at sunrise, the firework end of tour show and Billy saying his leg itches…. a few weeks later it transpired due to sleeping in filthy beds, he actually had scabies…… genius.

3. Radiohead’s nude was a favourite song of mine and a few other folk this past year. This video made by a student at Glasgow School of Art is amazing. Just watch and you’ll see what i mean

4. I went to the Fringe this year in Edinburgh and saw only one thing. Limmy. And if you like this, you missed out on a great show.

5. The first time i saw this, i couldn’t quite handle the enormity of it. My life was never the same… was it fuck! but still, funny, informative and inspiration for Hallowe’en were i made an attempt at being him.

So it has been ages. and ages since an update. Christmas has taken up a lot of my time, as has the club night and the hunt for a new flatmate. Oh, and the broken nose. So tonight is the night i have decided to sit down, update all of this, post some things that need posted and work on some details for my new website…. So away we go!

So my good friend Ross Clark is paying with his band, the scarfs go missing, at Nice and Sleazys tonight, i highly recommend  going  along if you can. And then afterwards, hit the flying duck for Look Who I Know, where the band will be guest djing and i shall be playing music to make you dance.

This thursday is the 2nd Look Who I Know at the Flying Duck in Glasgow. Expect great music, cheap drink from £1.50 and some crackers you might get the chance to pull…. boom boom

Nearly christmas time…and…. guess what!?

i haven’t bought more than 3 present so far, but i am doing something pretty cool this year. I will tell you all on boxing day if it went well….

i have no idea what i want this year or what i’m getting. There are things i need but they are too expensive etc… so i’m just looking forward to the surprises coming my way.

End of days…at woolworths

Went in to woolworths the other day, the day of the closing down sale starting, and i was pretty ashamed to be in there. The people were acting like everything and anything was the greatest deal ever. Tragic really when it was mostly 10% off items. But the first hand experience of seeing people grab at 40 coloured chalk sticks because they had 30% off £1.49.

To be honest, i passed the other day and looked in and this was what was left…

An eventful afternoon

I have had an eventful day so far and i have work tonight but one of the many highlights of my day came 5 mins ago. Watching the Gilmour girls as i try to do daily at this time, i noticed some familiar faces busking with a keyboard. SPARKS!!! Fantastic!!!! anyway this is just a quick post and i’ll update more tonight when i get home from work.
